Season 1 Episode 8: Red Velvet NYC

In this episode, we're visiting Agathe Assouline-Lichten at Red Velvet NYC, in Brooklyn, New York, to make their Celebration Cupcakes.

Red Velvet NYC is a super unique place, not one that’s open to the public, or baking anything on site! They craft the recipes for lots of different amazing kits, so that each recipient of the kit can be their own baker and take all (or, at least most) of the credit. It’s a really brilliant idea, because these kits are much different from just going to the grocery store and getting a cookie or cake mix. These are truly elevated kits, allowing you to make an array of baked good, at a really professional level! They all come with instructions and, in this case, as you’ll see in the video, baking supplies that really take the guess work out. Here, we’re making cupcakes, which, typically require a muffin or cupcake pan, along with the paper inserts- here, the cupcake paper cups are sturdy, allowing you to be able to put them right on the baking rack, on their own! Plus, they have a brilliant peel-away wrapper.
Agathe and her company as sweet as can be, her staff is hard at work fulfilling lots of home-baker’s orders, even offering a subscription service so that you never miss a baked good to try!
