What Cookies Are Vegan? Plant-Powered Cookies

In my series of cookie questions, another one of the top questions was, “What Cookies Are Vegan?”.

There are several types of cookies that are naturally vegan, meaning they do not require any substitutions or modifications to be vegan-friendly. Some examples include:

  1. Oatmeal Cookies: Made with oats, flour, sugar, and plant-based fats like coconut oil or vegetable oil, oatmeal cookies are naturally vegan.

  2. Peanut Butter Cookies: These cookies typically contain only peanut butter, sugar, and flour, making them naturally vegan.

  3. Coconut Macaroons: Made with shredded coconut, sugar, and aquafaba (the liquid from a can of chickpeas) instead of egg whites, coconut macaroons are naturally vegan.

  4. Almond Cookies: Cookies made with almond flour or ground almonds, sugar, and a plant-based fat are naturally vegan.

  5. Chocolate Coconut Cookies: These cookies are made with shredded coconut, cocoa powder, sugar, and a plant-based fat, and are naturally vegan.

While these cookies are naturally vegan, many other cookie recipes can be adapted to be vegan-friendly. This can be done by using plant-based butter, egg replacers such as flax eggs or applesauce, and making sure to use organic sugar (which is often processed without the use of animal products). With a few simple substitutions, you can enjoy a wide variety of delicious vegan cookies!
