Are Cookies Bread? Let's Find Out!

In my series of cookie questions, another one of the top questions was, “Are Cookies Bread?”.

The age-old question lingers: are cookies just tiny, sweet loaves of bread? While both are baked from dough, the similarities end there. Bread, leavened with yeast, boasts a fluffy texture, while cookies, leavened with baking soda or powder, offer a denser, crumblier bite.

Bread is a mealtime staple, often the foundation for sandwiches and toast. In contrast, cookies are the delightful treats that bring sweetness to our lives, offering joy in each bite. Bread is the reliable friend, while cookies are the playful companion, adding a touch of happiness to any moment.

So, the next time you savor a warm, chocolatey cookie, remember, it's more than just dough—it's a beloved treat, distinct from its bread cousin, and a delightful indulgence in the world of baking.
