Will Cake Stick To Parchment Paper?

In my series of cake questions, another one of the top questions was, “Will Cake Stick To Parchment Paper?”.

Cake typically doesn’t stick to parchment paper, making it crutial for lining cake pans. Parchment paper has a non-stick surface that helps cakes release easily from the pan without sticking. To ensure your cake doesn't stick, it's a good idea to grease the cake pan before lining it with parchment paper (unless you’re making a chiffon cake, you can line the bottom with parchment but do not grease the sides). This extra step can further prevent any potential sticking and make for easy removal of the cake after baking.

To get the best results, cut out a piece of parchment paper the side of the bottom of your cake pan (either a circle or rectangle, whatever shape your pan is), use a little non-stick spray to adhere the parchment to the pan, and spray the sides of the pan with non-stick spray.
