Will Cake Batter Leak In A Springform Pan?

In my series of cake questions, another one of the top questions was, “Will Cake Batter Leak In A Springform Pan?”.

Cake batter can potentially leak out of a springform pan if the pan is not properly sealed or if the batter is too thin. To prevent leaks, make sure the springform pan is properly assembled and that there are no gaps where the batter could escape. Additionally, avoid overfilling the pan with batter, as this can increase the likelihood of leakage.

If you're concerned about leaks, you can also place the springform pan on a baking sheet to catch any potential drips, or wrap the base of the pan in foil, making sure it goes up the sides of the pan to seal in any batter that may leak out.
