Devil's Food Cake Recipe

This recipe comes from the original recipe from the bakers and sailors of the Intrepid! From a recent trip to the Intrepid Museum, from their exhibit Navy Cakes, I got this recipe for their version of Devil's Food Cake. This has been scaled down to accommodate a much smaller serving size. Enjoy!
**CORRECTION: in the video it said 1.5tsp baking soda, but the printed directions are correct, use 1.75tsp In the video for the buttercream frosting I say 1/2 stick of butter, that should be 1/2 cup=1 stick
