Doughnuttery at Governors Ball

We're interviewing Evan from Doughnuttery to learn about their signature mini doughnuts, plans for expansion, and what a Chief Doughnut does.

I love thinking about that old commercial that says “time to make the doughnuts” (although, they were probably spelling it “donuts”, which is a topic I regret not bringing up in my interview with Evan- but, by the spelling of his company’s name, I think I know where he stands). I love getting to eat the doughnuts that are being made, but getting to actually see them being made is an even bigger delight. At Gov Ball, where we spoke with Evan, and at their other locations, you can do exactly that and see your doughnuts being made before your eyes (check out the video to see it!).

Flavor customization comes in the form of the different sanding sugars or powders the doughnuts get tossed in, before they’re served. You also have dipping sauces to further indulge, but I actually am more of a purist and don’t really need the sauces here.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard the job title of “Chief Doughnut” before, so I was interested in finding out what what of those does! You can learn what you can aspire to in the video, where Evan describes what it takes.
